Marco Lohse is founder and CEO of Motama GmbH. Motama offers software-defined products for IP-based media processing, either as turn-key software/hardware products or software-only products for installation in the cloud. Motama's server products provide a complete solution for live content: DVB gateways/headends, transcoders for adaptive streaming, ad replacement and video overlays, content contribution and distribution, and streaming servers.
These products drive applications in IPTV, Internet/OTT, CDN, Telco, Mobile, Hospitality, and Corporate Networks.
Marco has over 17 years of experience in the IT industry, working in research & development, software and Internet businesses. He has worked for internationally recognized research & development institutes including Max-Planck Institute for Informatics, German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), Department of Computer Science at Saarland University, Germany and GVU Center at Georgia Tech, USA.
Marco Lohse received a Diploma/MSc in Computer Science from Saarland University, Germany in 2001 and a Doctor/PhD with highest honors in Computer Science from Saarland University in 2005. His work has been awarded by the ACM, the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society.
